Community Meeting focused on Interfaith/Community Response to the Unhoused and Unsheltered residents of the Bancroft Area.

On October 24th 2024, St John’s Parish Hall was the venue for the Interfaith / Community Meeting focusing on the challenges of the unhoused and unsheltered residents of the Bancroft area.  Bishop Michael BIRD the Incumbent of the Parish of North Hastings, read a letter of support of a more comprehensive shelter in Bancroft.   Kevin ALKENBRACK, Executive Director of Morningstar Mission in Napanee, gave a presentation on similar challenges faced by members of that community.  Community Partners from the Bancroft Family Health Team as well as Addictions and Mental Health Services also presented their thoughts and ideas.

We look forward to continuing the involvement of the Parish of North Hastings to keeping our community healthy and strong.
