New priest-in-charge for North Hastings

Bishop Michael Oulton has appointed Bishop Michael Bird as priest-in-charge of the Parish of North Hastings effective November 1, 2022.

Bishop Bird retired from the Diocese of Niagara in 2018 and accepted a new ministry as Archdeacon of Pembroke and Incumbent of the Parish of the Valley in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa.
In 2020, Bishop Shane Parker appointed Bishop Michael Honourary Assistant Bishop for the Diocese of Ottawa.

Blessings on the Parish of North Hastings as they move into this new phase in mission and ministry, along with prayers of thanksgiving for the faithfulness and dedication of the lay and clergy leadership who have served the Parish so faithfully and well.

The Rev. Mary Bell-Plouffe

Rev. Mary is a retired priest in the Diocese of Toronto who leads worship once a month in the parish. When Mary isn’t with us, she’s an Honorary Assistant at St. John’s Peterborough.

Mary loves to preach and is passionate about celtic spirituality and biblical storytelling, which is telling the scriptures by heart. Mary usually tells the gospel by heart during worship.

Mary and her husband Daniel have three adult children and two grandchildren. They live on a farm in Douro with 2 horses, 1 donkey, a dog and a cat.
